Hi Guys & Gals, a newbie here, I bought this moped and I wish I didn't, here is my story, and I hope you can help me.
first off, it's a 2006, I bought it from AZ, without checking the DMV here in CA, found out that it needed to be carbed before registering it, and no body want to do it, except for some guy he told me he will charge me $85.00, and he is not sure, because he needs to check with the manufacturer.
Second, it has only 185 miles on it. when am riding it then come to a stop, it quits on me. Lately I bought a battery charger, and I keep it hooked up to the moped when in its parked. Now, even with the battery full charge, and the charger hooked up to it, it won't start, it cranks for a second and then it starts whininng.
do I have a big problem on my hand or what should I do, to fix this problem, I am not very handy in things like that, and am not even sure if I can do a tune up, and then the problem might still exist. Wow, I guess am the first poster in this section for 2007. lol
Thanks for your replies.

when the engine kills on you when you stop, you might have a problem with the idle screw. but the first question is, did you ever change carbs for the CA one. or is it the stock carb that came with the moped. im not sure where the idle screw it on the moped carbs, but if you contact viza, or look in the manual, it might show you where the idle screw it. you will have to turn it in, i know that.
the winining sound you hear, is that with the engine running, or is it the sound of the starter cranking. did you try it with the kick start. does it start then? it sounds to me like you have a carb problem. you might need to adjust the carb. once again, contact viza or look at your manual.
look at what you setting should be. im not sure if there is even adjusting screws.. i know there is on scooters, thats why im saying it. your best bet is for someone that knows more about moped then i do.. and hopefully they can help you.

Am sorry that I have not checked the site again for responses, it's just that I thought if someone responded, I will recieve a notification in my email. Anyway, to answer the questions, 1- the engine dies when I rev it while warming the engine at idle. 2- I don't know where the idle screw location, and I don't have a manual for it. 3- I have never installed the carb for CA, and I don't even know if it has one, one guy was gonna charge me $75.00 to carb it, but am not sure if this gonna solve the problem.4- what number should I contact viza on? and where is their location? 5- I have tried many times to kick start it, but to no avail. 6- thank you for the response, you have a very nice site here, I don't understand why it's not very active? am sure I will be reffering people here. when the engine kills on you when you stop, you might have a problem with the idle screw. but the first question is, did you ever change carbs for the CA one. or is it the stock carb that came with the moped. im not sure where the idle screw it on the moped carbs, but if you contact viza, or look in the manual, it might show you where the idle screw it. you will have to turn it in, i know that. the winining sound you hear, is that with the engine running, or is it the sound of the starter cranking. did you try it with the kick start. does it start then? it sounds to me like you have a carb problem. you might need to adjust the carb. once again, contact viza or look at your manual. look at what you setting should be. im not sure if there is even adjusting screws.. i know there is on scooters, thats why im saying it. your best bet is for someone that knows more about moped then i do.. and hopefully they can help you.

The Number is in my Signature located down at the bottom of my post. I really haven't gotten a chance to look at these engines up close, but John is getting to an idea, that your carberator is malfuctioning. Take it to a local shop if you have one and see what they can do. If not, call viza. They will be most likely the ones who could help best.

you said that it dies when you give it throttle when its warming up? it is probably going to die while warming up. does it still die when it has been ran for more then 1-2 mins at idle.
if it does still die when its warmed up, then your best bet is to contact viza and they will help you retune your carb.. like brandon said, the number is in his sigunture. and its also in my sigunture too.
also, if you cant get it fixed, you can get that CA carb and it might work.

The starter gear could be slipping when it "wines". Does the engine still try to start as it wines, or does it stop and just wine?
