I have a Tank tk50qt-5 scooter. In the summer on hot days the scooter seemed to hold back when I would run it wide open. It acts like it is running rich. As fall came it seemed like the problem disappeared. The spark plug seemed to be carboned up. What would cause this problem? Can I get different jets for it?

yes, the spark plug could be the problem, as for the heat thing you might be expericenceing Vapor-Lock.... and a easy way to fix this is to re-route the fuel lines so there not near the engine's heat anywhere.

I did try a hotter spark plug but that didn't seem to help. I guess that I could try to reroute the gas lines to see if that would make a difference. It seems like it wants to flood easy when you first try to start it. There was a time or to when it wouldn't start but when I would put a different plug in it would start right up. I was told by one person that I needed to remove .005 from the top of each jet but I didn't try that yet.
